BarCARES PROGRAM – NOW HERE FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE 14TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT BAR!
At times all of us have problems in our personal lives or at work. Early assistance in resolving these problems improves the quality of both our personal lives and our work lives.
BarCARES is a short-term intervention program provided cost-free to members of the 14th Judicial District Bar. Each member of the 14th receives up to three free visits each year.
The service is also available to the family members of those attorneys who belong to the Durham County Bar Association, the voluntary bar. Any member of your immediate family who is your dependent may use these visits.
These confidential sessions can be used to provide assistance in resolving problems or accessing the appropriate source of help.
The DCBA has provided the BarCARES program to members since January 1, 2000. The Board of Directors voted to make the services available to ALL members of the 14th Judicial District Bar starting with the 2003-2004 fiscal year. Questions about membership can be answered by calling the Bar Office at 682-2012 or by sending an e-mail to dba@lawyer.com.
The 14th Judicial District Bar and the Durham County Bar Association have contracted with Human Resource Consultants to provide the BarCARES program. HRC is a local company with providers in Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill. They will make every effort to match you with the most appropriate provider.
BarCARES is not hard to use – all it takes is a telephone call. Call 1-877-BAR-4851, or locally, 929-1227, anytime, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
