HISTORY

In 1962, African-American attorneys established the George H. White Bar Association in recognition of George Henry White.  Although primarily comprised of African-American attorneys who reside or practice law in Durham County, this thriving, dynamic Association has extended its membership to encompass other ethnicities.  We are dedicated to continuing the legacy and work of George White as a spokesman for all.  Our purpose is to enrich Durham County and the legal community through service, scholarship opportunities for high school and law school students, mentor programs, and resources to the local bar.

MEMBERSHIP & MEETINGS

The annual dues are $25.  Our fiscal year runs from January to December.  A check may be made payble to the George H. White Bar Association and mailed to us at P. O. Box 955 Durham NC 27702.

We meet the first Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm at a local restaurant.  Each month we announce the local restaurant in the Durham Docket and send out reminder emails to all members as well.
